The District has openings in the positions listed below. Persons interested in applying for these positions should obtain an application form from the District located at 126 Alton Adams Dr., Waxahachie, Texas, or download the application form from this site.

Operations Department: 

 

Crew Member

 Description:

Performs daily operations in regards to water distribution including but not limited to repair and maintenance of waterlines, install meters, turning water off/on, maintaining and operating equipment, and customer service. Qualified applicants must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and able to lift 65 lbs. Scheduled for on-call rotation and response to emergency situations, some weekends, nights and holidays.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate a variety of hand tools.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Maintain equipment by inspecting for damage and performing routine maintenance.
  • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within the department.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Water Operator Class C Distribution License or able to obtain one within two and a half years.
  • A valid Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within one (1) year of employment is required.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Other preferred certifications/licenses:

  • BPAT 
  • CSI
  • Water Operator Class D, C or B Distribution License

 

The district is a rural water utility company servicing Northeastern Ellis County. An excellent benefit package is provided for all full-time employees. The starting pay is based on qualifications and experience. Over-time paid after 40 hours worked each week. 


Water Operator Crew Supervisor

Description:

Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to lead and supervise the work of crews that are engaged in water utility maintenance. This is accomplished by leading personnel, monitoring project work, maintaining equipment and completing administrative duties. Performs daily operations in regards to water distribution including but not limited to repair and maintenance of waterlines, install meters, turning water off/on, maintaining and operating equipment, and customer service. Qualified applicants must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and able to lift 65 lbs. Scheduled for on-call rotation and response to emergency situations, some weekends, nights and holidays.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads and supervises the work of personnel by assigning work duties; observing and monitoring work tasks; providing feedback to employees; evaluating work performance; and assisting employees to correct deficiencies. 
  • Monitors project work by ensuring a safe working environment for crews; planning for and securing needed materials and equipment; ensuring project is completed in a timely manner; inspecting work; and providing problems solutions as needed.
  • Completes administrative duties by preparing daily work orders; preparing various reports; and monitoring equipment inventories.
  • Operate a variety of motorized equipment related to construction/maintenance such as a backhoe and a variety of hand tools.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Maintain equipment by inspecting for damage and performing routine maintenance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Water Operator Class C Distribution License 
  • A valid Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within one (1) year of employment is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervising others
  • Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in the operation of motorized equipment.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Other preferred certifications/licenses:

  • BPAT 
  • CSI
  • Water Operator Class B Distribution License
